About the programme

Our team of care specialists have created a 14 month apprenticeship programme to build on what you have learnt and your experiences of working in the sector. You’ll be supported by our highly skilled, enthusiastic and passionate expert team helping you to develop into a confident and skilled care/support worker.

We’ll help support you every step of the way and train you so that you have the skills, know-how and confidence to deliver a high quality service in the setting you work.

Whilst on the apprenticeship programme you’ll receive a wide variety of learning opportunities to get the appropriate knowledge, skills and behaviours needed in your role so that you’re able to successfully complete the programme and progress in your career. Learning is relevant to what you do in day-to-day tasks so that you’re able to effectively carry out a range of tasks and be responsible for activities within the care environment.

Your Trainer will support you every month with a teaching and learning session and be on hand at all times so that you get the very best support when you need it.

As an adult care worker helping those with care and support needs you’ll deliver essential care support, being able to assist, shape and help individuals to have control and choice in their lives. Working in the sector is rewarding fulfilling and also challenging. Our expert Trainers will support you and share their own experiences of working in the sector so that you successfully achieve the apprenticeship programme and are prepared for the future.

Typical job titles and roles that are suitable for this programme include: Care Assistant, Care Worker, Support Worker, Relief Team Worker, Key Worker in Domiciliary Services or Day Services and Home Care Support Worker.

What you’ll learn

You’ll develop a range of essential skills so that you’re skilled and able to make a positive difference to the lives of the adults in your care. You’ll be equipped with the knowledge and confidence to help adults achieve their personal goals and live as independently and safely as possible, enabling them to have control and choice in their lives.

Key learning topics covered during the apprenticeship include:

  • Tasks and responsibilities
  • Duty of care
  • Statutory and legal requirements including Health & Safety
  • Communication
  • Care Certificate – Ensuring you can demonstrate the required knowledge and competence within the 15 listed standards
  • Diploma in Health and Social Care 

If you don’t have Level 1 English and maths we’ll help you to achieve this before reaching end point assessment and get you ready to take the test for Level 2. Our team of highly skilled specialist English and Maths Tutors can provide additional support if needed.

    How you’ll learn

    Our sector expert staff will support you to achieve the apprenticeship. We have highly skilled and knowledgeable staff with significant experience of working in the industry who will be able to share their experiences and support you.

    We deliver the programme throughout the year providing you with the flexibility to start the apprenticeship when it meets your needs. Learning is either delivered as face to face workshops (typically on the employer site) either as a group or individual sessions, with independent learning and regular 1-2-1 support.
