Every day we support apprentices in a wide range of social care settings in the community (such as children’s centres, schools, care homes) and we know how fulfilling the role is. By starting this apprenticeship you’ll experience first-hand how to support and make a positive difference to a young person.

About the programmeYou’ll be supported by our highly skilled, enthusiastic and passionate team of Early Years and Childcare experts. Our programme is 12 months long and includes a range of learning opportunities and styles, providing a blended programme that is delivered in the work place. We mix together face to face activities with progress reviews and support so that you get the best support possible to achieve your apprenticeship. We’ll help you advance your knowledge of child development, working safely and supporting positive behaviour in young people.

Are there any entry requirements?What you’ll learnYou’ll develop a range of essential child and young people skills and behaviours that employers want and value in the sector so that you’re skilled and able to make a positive difference to the lives of the individuals you’re supporting.Key learning topics covered during the apprenticeship include:
- Child development and factors that affect
- Communicating with parents, children and other agencies
- Supporting positive behaviour in young people
- Professional Practice
- Specialist English, maths and ICT support (if needed)
- Mandatory and optional units allowing you to flex and tailor the learning to your needs and areas of interest
- Face to face sessions
- Observations and assessment in the workplace
- Independent learning
- 1-2-1 progress reviews
- Remote support
- Specialist English/maths support (if needed)
