The Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship may just be for you if you’re in a first line management role with operational or project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome.

Our programme will provide you with the strong foundations for being a future manager and leader in the public, private or third sector by gaining a deeper understanding of professional management practices. You’ll also complete the ILM Level 3 Diploma for Managers.

About the programme

Our 14 month Team Leader Supervisor programme has been expertly designed by our Management and Leadership specialists working in partnership with the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) to create a quality learning experience. We deliver an inspiring programme so that you learn and develop the fundamental requirements of a successful manager and leader.

Whilst on the programme you’ll build a sound understanding of what is expected in your role as a manager and will be supported by our expert staff to help you put into practice your new found knowledge.

We’ll help you develop a deeper understanding of management and leadership techniques so that you’re ready for business challenges today and tomorrow. At the end of the programme you’ll have mastered the basic management essential skills ready for the next stage of your career.

The programme provides a strong foundation for you to be able to progress in your chosen field and prepare for further learning and development opportunities such as the Operations Departmental Manager Level 5 apprenticeship programme.

Key responsibilities you’re likely to have in day to day work include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships internally and externally.

Typical roles and occupations of apprentices undertaking the programme include:  Supervisor, Team Leader, Project Officer, Shift Supervisor, Foreperson, and Shift Manager

What you’ll learn

You’ll learn the essential management skills needed to successfully fulfil your role as a manager and be able to cope and respond to everyday business challenges with confidence and clarity. During the programme we’ll cover a range of topics to help you develop and prepare you for end point assessment including:

  • Leading People
  • Building Relationships
  • Operational Management
  • Project Management
  • Communication

You’ll also complete the ILM Level 3 Diploma for Managers as part of the programme.
