Taking on a childcare trainee
Could your early years setting benefit from having a trainee?
Interserve Learning & Employment are working to create opportunities for young people looking to build a career in childcare. As part of this, we are actively seeking employers who could offer a placement to a trainee.
The latest government funded incentive for employers offers £1,000 for each traineeship learner they take on.
A traineeship programme with Interserve Learning & Employment is designed and delivered by sector experts who truly understand what it’s like to start out in the childcare sector. They will teach your trainee fundamental subjects such as the duty of care; behaviours and attitudes; health & safety and principles and values.
Once the traineeship finishes, employers are not required to provide a job, however, they will need to offer either:
- An interview for a job role (if one is available); or
- Meaningful written feedback to help the trainee secure an apprenticeship or other employment.
So in summary, if you could support someone aged 16-24 years old, with little or no job history, to gain work experience and enter the employment market – we would love to hear from you!
