A new free service is available to businesses across Leicestershire to help their workers improve their skills.

The new ‘Open Doors’ programme provides businesses with free advice and training for employees to help them progress their careers.

Local training organisation, Interserve Learning & Employment, will work with local businesses to help them identify their skills need and agree a suitable training schedule for staff that is aligned to their business needs.

The ‘Open Doors’ training covers a host of different roles and sectors from childcare to construction. Industry specific training is also available through the service and all training is tailored to meet the needs of the employer and their employees.

Timothy Beasley, Interserve Learning & Employment’s Open Doors Manager, said:

“We’re very pleased to be able to build on what we’re already doing here in Leicestershire to help people to progress in their careers.  Alongside our existing apprenticeship service, we are proud to be able to support more local businesses across the region to develop and provide skills to their workforce through this new programme. This opportunity will truly open doors for employees and employers alike.”

Funded by the European Social Fund, Open Doors is available until March 2018. The service is available to all businesses in the region with less than 250 employees.
