Probation staff enjoy hair and beauty treatments to highlight Adult Education courses on offer

Fully funded core and vocational skills courses were promoted at the Cheshire & Greater Manchester Community Rehabilitation Company (CGM CRC) office in Crewe today.

Probation staff were treated to beauty treatments by training and development specialists, organised by Interserve Learning & Employment (ILE) which is offering courses to probation service users through the Adult Education Budget (AEB).

The AEB is allocated to providers including ILE to deliver adult education provision. ILE has extensive experience and resources to engage adults and provide them with skills and learning to equip them for work, an apprenticeship or further learning.

Courses are funded (part or fully), flexible and can be tailored to meet the needs of individual service users. Sector specific training programmes, specialist courses and the core support around English and maths courses are all available, as well as various vocational courses, lasting from two weeks to six months, in sectors including: child care, teaching support, health and social care, hairdressing, barbering and beauty treatments.

ILE operations manager, Lisa McManus, who organised today’s event said: “Today’s health and beauty focus has been a lot of fun for all involved. It has been great to see colleagues from Interserve Learning & Employment and justice getting together. Ultimately we all share a common purpose to help our service users to progress in life. I hope that we’ll see a number of referrals on behalf of probation users, signing up to enhance their skills and future opportunities through learning.”
