On Friday 12 August, the Department for Education and the SFA published a number of documents on how apprenticeships will be funded in England. These included proposals for a new Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers.
These proposals for the new Register would signify a change in the way subcontractors operate in the apprenticeship training market from May 2017. We support the SFA in their appeal to seek the views of subcontractors who currently deliver apprenticeship training. We would encourage all subcontractors, large and small to complete either the short or the full survey which they have compiled to gather your viewpoints.
AELP Chief Executive, Mark Dawe said: ‘Officials have made it clear that the more responses the better from providers and employers. We mustn’t forget that the retreat from some of the Richard review recommendations resulted largely from the volume of evidence that members presented on behalf of employer customers. Therefore the same exercise must be repeated.’
Both surveys will close on Monday 5 September. It’s important that we all have our views heard on this critical matter.
