Claire had a number of part time jobs previously, but nothing that could take her off benefits since before having her daughter, back in 1998.
A position arose for a cleaner at both the Newcastle-under-Lyme and Hanley sencia offices, and after some excellent negotiation by employer relations officer Michele Windsor Claire secured an interview. With the role being for 16 hours per week, it meant Claire would be able to come off benefits but still spend lots of time with her children.
A number of Work Programme customers were put forward from both sites and Claire was successful, she started her job on the 8 August and all is going well so far and looks set to remain this way for the future. The job also includes flexible hours to ensure that it fits around Claire and her childcare.
This is excellent news all round as the customer got a vacancy through the employment relations team and the encouragement from Claire’s case manager, Kirstie Walklate, helped her to secure the post.
