Just 38% of unemployed young people believe they are ready for a commercial environment.
Traineeships offer 16-24 year olds an opportunity to bridge the gap from school to work, whilst fine tuning the English and maths skills needed to compete for an Apprenticeship or job of their choosing.

Foundations for growth

As part of this essential transition from school to work, trainees are offered work experience that can last anywhere from six weeks to six months and will equip them with the confidence to step onto the career ladder. At the end of the placement, they will be given a reference and exit interview – or job interview if a vacancy becomes available.

Around a third of employers are dissatisfied with school and college leavers’ basic numeracy and literacy and a massive 74% believe work experience is important when recruiting. With your help and guidance, we want to give young people the opportunity to build their CV and understand what is expected in the world of work.
