Yasmine Chaffer joined Interserve Learning & Employment (ILE) in its Business Development Team on a temporary basis earlier this year after studying Psychology at Sheffield Hallam University. Initially Yasmine joined the business on a temporary basis as a Graduate Researcher but proved to be such an asset to the team that she was offered the position permanently. Her role was primarily to conduct research into levy paying employers which the company was planning to work with to strengthen its offer and bids, providing the necessary intelligence to help ILE to differentiate itself and stand out from other providers.
Yasmine said, “One of my highlights so far is writing a proposal for Countrywide, which was requested with a very tight deadline. This was a very challenging piece of work as I had not done any bid writing before I started at ILE, but I learnt a lot from the process and felt proud of the end result.
I am also part of a working group with ERSA for the development of Prisoner Apprenticeship Pathways, which is a very exciting opportunity and I am really looking forward to getting started.
I have really enjoyed my first few months at ILE and was very happy when I was offered a permanent role. The Business Development team has been great to work in as I have learnt a lot from everyone, and there is always someone willing to help if I have any problems. I have enjoyed the challenges of the last few months and am very much looking forward to my future at ILE!”
Commenting on her time with the team so far, Martin Wearne, Senior Business Development Manager, said: “Yasmine was appointed as a new Graduate Researcher earlier this year after a pretty intensive recruitment process. Her transition from university to full-time employment has been great to see and she has really risen to the challenge and the pace of the Business Development Team.
Since joining Yasmine has shown great determination and enthusiasm for her role, being able to respond efficiently and effectively to new tasks and activities. What has been really impressive and particularly pleasing is Yasmine’s ability to continually learn and improve from one day to the next; applying her new found knowledge whilst also sharing her skills as a recent graduate with the rest of the team.
I’m really pleased that Yasmine has accepted her permanent position and I’m looking forward to the next chapter in her career.”
